-acting is a profession of sensitivity not appearances

-life explains animation better than animation explains itself

-do your research on a topic or you will just animate an impression

-research is the way to avoid cliches

-cliche

- repeated opinion of life/ lost its true source/ false understanding/ narrow view of life

-find the essence in it and run with it, make it your own

-if you want your audience to root for your character you need to show them how the character feels rather than just objectively showing what he/ she does

-there needs to be motivation behind the characters actions

-communicate through personal experiences/ communicate life

-remind your audience of the truth

-learn how to see life as an animator

-constantly learn and observe

-inform yourself about the world around you

-watch films with memorable ideas/ concepts/ performances

-watch films several times in order to look past story and view film making techniques

-keep a notebook of great ideas from your life

-keep a sketchbook

-find the relationship between shapes

-its not the quality of the drawing that matters

-find solutions to visual problems

-watch Cat Man Do by Simon Tofield

-when animating a scene don't feel you are stuck with your initial timing

While I was making the blog I sketched my cat, so I decided to make it my first post. Don't have a scanner so I took a picture of it with my computer.  

And yes I need to learn how to use markers.
